It's been here in Seattle since Sunday (4/5/09) night. Should be
heading over to the barge
later this evening and loaded onto the barge by Union Pacific tonight or
tomorrow morning!
The DMU arrives in Whittier
(Can this be Whittier? The sun is out!)

The plywood cutout on the scaffolding (photos 008 and 009) is to make sure there is sufficient clearance in the tunnels for the DMU. Also, photos 012 and 013 are views of the DMU and the arrival of the morning passenger train (which has been coined the "freedom train" by some local). I've attached 015 which is a shot of food being offloaded from the train to replenish shelves at the local grocery store. It was getting thin in some critical areas. So we're good to go for a while!
