Saturday 9.21 was shaping up to be a nice day for a number of reasons. One it was a day off, two the weatherman forecasted sunshine and this summer there had not been a whole lot of that. And lastly even though passenger season had just ended there were a number of train options available. I decided on Seward as there was a short Seward freight coming north with a single Geep and about 10 cars of freight to come north until the next barge arrived. It was partly cloudy when I left Anchorage but blue skies prevailed in Seward although when I made back towards Anchorage clouds would return but for the most part the sun was out. Seen here crossing the Snow River about 14 miles north of Seward. 9.21.24 Photograph courtesy of Frank Keller
