Charles Drum
Charlie was hired by the Alaska Railroad in 1950 served as brakeman, conductor, yardmaster and Trainmaster. In 1977, Charlie was recruited by the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), U.S. Department of Transportation, and worked out of the Seattle, Wash., regional office before returning for a two year stint with the Alaska Railroad, eventually retiring in 1987. Including two years of service with Army Rail during the Korean conflict, Charlie was a railroader for 37 years.
